Lucas wants to be just like his counselor when he grows up: a firefighter.
Lucas was making chocolate milk one day in 2013, when the stool slid from under him, and he caught a pot of boiling water on the way down. Only 6 years old at the time, he suffered third-degree burns on his arm and shoulder and second-degree burns on his face.
He loves to act, sing, dance, draw and play with his Pokemon cards. He’s not scared of anything – not even the kitchen -- and when someone stares at his scars, he asks them, “How would you feel if this happened to you?”
His biggest life change is wearing a protective shirt whenever he’s in the sun. One of his burn camp counselors made such an impression on him that Lucas wants to be just like his counselor when he grows up: a firefighter.
