One of our patients, 11-year-old Tymia McCullough, traveled to Washington this summer to talk with political leaders, as they debated the Better Care Reconciliation Act to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Tymia lives in Georgetown but receives treatment for sickle cell anemia, a genetic blood disorder that causes crippling pain, at the MUSC Children’s Hospital. Charleston Riverdogs donated $20,000 to the campaign

The Charleston Riverdogs presented a $20,000 check to the campaign for the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital on Aug. 31.  This check represents the culmination of season-long fundraising efforts by the RiverDogs, including proceeds from a golf tournament, T-shirt sales, the Legends of the South exhibition game and an online auction.
